Job Description
Kingsway Locums are looking for Locum Nurse Practitioners in Innerleithen.
This opportunity offers flexible sessional work across various primary care services, providing options for nurses experienced in same day demand, clinical triage and long term condition support in a busy but supportive environment.
The service is set up to help you deliver high standards, with clear escalation routes, strong admin coordination and established clinical templates to keep consultations focused and efficient.
Up to 2 days a week available with flexibility around which sessions you take.
Role ideal for NPs who value streamlined processes and consistent session planning.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver assessment and management for minor illness and urgent presentations.
• Undertake triage and allocate patients appropriately within the team.
• Provide health advice, follow-up planning and safety-netting guidance.
• Coordinate care with the MDT and refer to external services when required.
• Support chronic disease work and preventative interventions as agreed.
• Record consultations accurately and contribute to safe clinical governance.
Requirements
• NMC registered Nurse Practitioner with recent UK primary care experience.
• Competence managing a broad minor illness caseload autonomously.
• Familiarity with referral pathways and local prescribing guidance.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centred approach.
• Current compliance documents including training and immunisation evidence.
• Two clinical references covering recent roles.
Working Pattern
• Up to 2 days per week available with potential to extend by agreement.
• Bookings can be arranged as fixed weekly sessions or ad hoc shifts.
• Session format can include a mix of telephone and face-to-face clinics.
• Start dates are flexible and aligned to your availability.
