Job Description

Kingsway Locums is looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to support a busy GP practice in Edgware.

You will join a well-run multidisciplinary team with clear clinical governance, consistent admin support, and a streamlined workflow designed to keep appointments running on time. The practice uses established protocols, reliable clinical systems, and has approachable GPs available for advice and escalation when needed.

Up to 3 days a week available with flexibility to fit around your current commitments.

Role Snapshot
• Autonomous same-day and routine clinics with prescribing and robust on-site support.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver same-day and routine ANP appointments including acute presentations and minor illness.
• Prescribe appropriately and manage medicines within scope and local pathways.
• Assess, diagnose, and initiate management plans including safety netting and follow-up.
• Order and interpret investigations and act on results in a timely manner.
• Document consultations accurately and contribute to consistent clinical coding.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacy, and admin teams to maintain patient flow.

Requirements
• NMC registration with ANP qualification and relevant primary care experience.
• Independent Prescriber qualification with confident, safe prescribing practice.
• Competence in assessment, diagnosis, and managing undifferentiated presentations.
• Knowledge of local referral processes and primary care clinical systems.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training and evidence of ongoing CPD.

Working Pattern
• Flexible sessions up to 3 days per week.
• Options for a mix of morning and afternoon clinics depending on practice need.
• Opportunity for ongoing blocks or shorter-term cover depending on availability.
