Job Description
Kingsway Locums is recruiting a Locum Nurse Practitioner for a well-structured GP surgery in Saltburn By The Sea.
You will work within a team that values good communication and efficient workflow, with clear appointment navigation, supportive clinical supervision when needed, and established processes for results and follow-up. The practice is used to onboarding locums, with sensible induction and access to protocols that help you settle quickly.
Up to 2 days a week available with flexibility and potential to increase.
Role Snapshot
• Locum NP sessions focused on minor illness, triage support, and safe patient access.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver minor illness clinics and contribute to same-day access where appropriate.
• Undertake clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management within agreed scope.
• Provide telephone triage and face-to-face reviews as required by the rota.
• Arrange investigations, interpret results, and ensure timely follow-up actions.
• Complete high-standard notes, coding, and task management for continuity.
• Work with GPs and nurses to escalate complex cases and maintain safety.
Requirements
• NMC registered with recent UK general practice experience.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage varying acuity.
• Confidence using practice systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and escalation pathways.
• Compliance documentation ready including DBS and mandatory training updates.
Working Pattern
• Up to 2 days per week with flexible days and session structures.
• Short-term cover and ongoing blocks available depending on preference.
• Start date can be arranged quickly to meet service demand.
